It is a profound privilege to serve as the Principal of Alphonsa College, Pala, an institution that celebrated its 60th anniversary and proudly completed the fifth cycle of NAAC accreditation with an A+ last year. Alphonsa College pays tribute to all the pioneers who have kept our spirit alive.Over the years, the college has demonstratedastrong commitment to academic and non-academic excellence, promising a bright future for our students. The college is committed to empowering women, reflecting the vision of our founding patron, Mar Sebastian Vayalil, the first bishop of the diocese of Pala, whose significant contributions and commitment have laid the groundwork for our institution’s progress. Named after St. Alphonsa, the embodiment of divinelove, the College serves as a hub of learning and scholarship for students from various backgrounds, including first-generation learners of our society.
Our diverse student community has been crucial in maintaining the College’s loyalty to the land and its people. The management has worked tirelessly to ensure the organisation’squality and success. Our team of dedicatedand dynamic staff serves as the backbone of this institution. We are also grateful to the strong parent-teacher-alumnae forum of our collegefor their unwavering support and cooperation in elevating our college to greater heights. Our renowned and illustrious alumnae,including three Olympians, Padmini Thomas,Preeja Sreedharan and Padmasree awardee, Shiny Wilson,have made us proud by bringing accoladesto the sportshistory of Alphonsa College. The college has also produced several IAS, IPS, and Cine Artists. The secure and friendly atmosphere is an added advantage to the scholastic and pluralistic culture we nurture.
