Guidelines on Public Self-Disclosure by Higher Education Institutions

Introduction

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 emphasizes transparent self-disclosure by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Public self-disclosure is identified as a fundamental principle of the policy, and HEIs are expected to remain responsible and accountable to stakeholders through transparent disclosure of all relevant records.

The availability of information in the public domain is an important source of institutional accountability. Students, parents, research scholars, prospective students, regulatory bodies, accreditation agencies, alumni, and the general public rely on institutional websites to access authentic and updated information.

Every Higher Education Institution is therefore required to maintain a functional website for stakeholder access. The information made available on the website should be openly accessible without login or registration and should include a search facility for easy navigation.
