Alphonsa Institute of Computer Studies (AICS), functioning in the Alphonsa College Pala Campus, offers the ‘O’ level Computer Course under NIELIT (Formerly DOEACC), recognized by AICTE & Govt. of India, PGDCA/DCA & Other Short Term Courses. The institute started in the year 1996 and accredited by DOEACC to conduct ‘O’ Level course on 12-03-1999 and granted full accreditation by the DOEACC on 12-03-2002. The ‘O’ level course is conducted on Full Time basis (1 year) for outstation students and on Part Time basis (2 years) for the regular students of the college.
NIELIT ‘O’ Level Computer Course
Objective: This ‘O’ Level Course (NSQF aligned course at Level 4) is designed to facilitate students in the development of concept based approach for problem solving using IT as a tool. The self learning approach is built into the syllabus, thereby training the candidates to update themselves on the changing technologies in their area of work. The course is to enable a student to acquire the knowledge pertaining to fundamentals of Information Technology (Information Technology Tools and Network Basics, Web Designing & Publishing, Programming and Problem Solving through Python, Internet of Things and its Applications, Practical based on M1-R5, M2- R5 ,M3-R5 and M4-R5 and Project Work).
The course is to equip a student with necessary skills as per following job role.

Those who pass ‘O’ level exam, get the Business Professional Programmer Certificate, which is recognized by UPSC, PSC, UGC, Banks and public sector industries. ‘O‘ level certificate holders can register with Employment exchanges and they are eligible to get jobs in Central Govt.services, Public Sector Undertakings, Banks &Multinational Companies.
