The Department of Chemistry was established in 1964 with the primary objective to bridge the educational gap for young women in the locality, providing them with a platform to explore their academic potential. Initially operating as a Junior College, the department laid the foundation for academic excellence. In 1967, the institution took a significant leap forward by introducing a comprehensive three-year undergraduate degree program in Chemistry. With the advent of Four-year undergraduate program in 2024, department of Chemistry offering students the opportunity to pursue a comprehensive BSc Chemistry (Honours) degree. We received funding from the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, in 2023, under the DBT-STAR College scheme.
Envisions to provide the art of chemistry education and to enable students to compete in, to face the challenges with dignity and to contribute to the society and to reach global standards.
