About Us

In today’s dynamic healthcare landscape, the role of nutrition and its profound impact on human health is increasingly recognized. With rising interest in health and longevity, Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics is gaining popularity. The programme aims to the study and practice of nutritional science, focusing on the relationship between diet, health, and disease. As a dynamic and interdisciplinary field, clinical nutrition and dietetics play a vital role in promoting health, preventing diseases, and managing various health conditions through evidence-based dietary interventions.

 

The importance of nutrition is progressing in the present scenario. Considering the need and to equip the students for a career, the Management of Alphonsa College, Pala introduced a job oriented graduate programme in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics in 1998. 

 

The programmes offered by the department does not confine to the usual gathering of information. We take a step forward to mould the students as socially responsible citizen and contribute to the nation at large. The Department aims to produce competent professionals who deeply understand the essence of nutrition that allows them to personalize information rather than follow every guideline issued for an entire population.
